A Tea Party

Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Teacups and cupcakes decorated with bows
I'm having a party and want you to go.

My oldest sweet daughter had her sixth birthday recently.  She chose a tea party, and was delighted when she found out she got to use her Grandmother's collection of tea cups.  My mom has collected them from all over the world, and gave them to me when I got older.  I cherish them, and still remember having tea parties with my mom when I was a little girl.
We came up with the poem for her invitations, and she walked around the neighborhood singing it to people.  We served cupcakes in each tea cup, cheese, deli meats, rolls, fruit, and of course the cakes.  Her Daddy walked around with an English accent serving all the giggling girls their food.  I overheard my little Adele whisper to a friend, 'that's my daddy.'  She had the proudest look on her face, and adores her dad.  We had story time and a craft to finish the party off.
I had both the cakes made at a local bakery without any garnishing or decorations.  I took them home to design and garnish with flowers, strawberries, and powdered sugar.  It saved me a ton of time to have them bake the cake rounds.
I adored doing this for my little sweet London, and loved seeing her face when she came home from her birthday date with her daddy!  I love you my daughter.
xoxo
